UPCOMING MEETINGS:

Mayor and Council invite you to attend monthly meetings which are held at City Hall, 50 Main Street, Concord at 7 PM the second Tuesday of every month.  The next meeting will be on August 11, 2020.

The Concord Country Jubilee scheduled for

October 17-18, 2020

HAS BEEN CANCELLED

On Thursday, July 23 the Mayor and Council had an open meeting at City Hall.  During this meeting the 2020 Concord Country Jubilee was discussed.

The Country Jubilee is a long-standing tradition for which the City of Concord enjoys hosting for our community. Each person’s safety is of the utmost, highest importance to us.

Unfortunately, the city does not have the resources to meet the recommended safety measures for proper sanitizing of bathrooms and wash stations at an event this size.  Hand-to-hand contact between visitors and vendors with food, crafts and children activities is unavoidable and could cause unsuspecting spread of the COVID virus.

For the well-being of our community, council felt it best to cancel this year’s 2020 Jubilee.  It is the hope that by practicing safety this year, we will get to be together in 2021.  Until then, stay healthy!

Best regards,

John Strickland, Mayor

Why should you complete the 2020 Census?

The 2020 population numbers will shape how political power and federal tax dollars are shared in the U.S over the next 10 years. The number of congressional seats and Electoral College votes each state gets are determined by census numbers. They also guide how federal funding is distributed for healthcare, schools, roads and other public services in local communities. The demographic data are used by businesses to determine, for example, where to build new supermarkets and by emergency responders to locate injured people after natural disasters.

HELP PIKE RECEIVE THE FUNDS AND RESOURCES OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS, COMPLETE THE CENSUS!
